Need real time example of an Action in Microsoft Dynamics CRM RRS feed

  • In Microsoft Dynamics CRM, I know the requirements when to use the Plugin, Workflows and Custom Workflows, but I cannot come across those cases or situations when I can use the Actions . Can anybody suggest me real time requirement when to use the action?

    If possible, please demonstrate an "Action" with an example.

    Action are used to define custom messages just like other out of the box messages, once these defined you can register your plugin on that messages, and the real beauty of action is that you can execute them using java script. So it gives you possibility to call your plugin using java script that can't be done with plugin directly. So if you have any requirement to call some server side logic using java script you can define action and call them using SOAP request.
