Incomplete Home Server Backup RRS feed

  • Question

  • In V1, when there were files that could not be backed up (because of invalid filename lengths, etc) there was a report that was available to denote the files that weren't backed up successfully.  In V2, I'm getting an "Incomplete" backup status.  I'm almost sure that I have a few mp3 files that exceed the NTFS limit with the full path.  How can I see what isn't getting backed up in Vail?

  • Well, the server backup interface isn't complete yet, per Microsoft elsewhere in this forum, so there will be additional information about backups in future builds. but for now you have access to the full Windows Server Backup interface via your server's desktop.

  • How much memory do you have in your server? Have you submitted a bug on Connect for this issue?

  • 8 Gig of Memory.  No bug yet as I wasn't really sure it wasn't a "user error" of not realizing where the server backup logs are maintained.  I can find the start and complete events in the log for the attached computers, but nothing for the server backup itself.
