Question on MCSD final exam course choice after getting MCSA RRS feed

  • Question

  • This official Microsoft link about MCSD: App Builder certification shows the following path for completing the requirements:

    Step 1:

    • Get MCSA by passing either 480[HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3] or 483 [C#] and passing a required exam 486 [ASP.NET MVC Web Applications]

    Step 2:

    • Pass ONE of the following exams: 532, 535, 487, 496, 497, 498

Question about step 2 above: If someone has already received MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure and had passed one or more of the exams in step 2, will that person have to choose one of the exams other than the ones he/she had already passed in MCSE requirements? Or that person will even have to do step 2 despite that fact that he/she had already taken and passed one or more of the exams from step 2 while getting his/her MCSE?

Answers

  • Any one of those specific exams that applies to both certifications will count towards earning each certification.  Yu won't need to take another exam.  If you already have passed one from the list in step #2 you only need to complete Step #1 to get your MCSD.
