  • Question

  • I recently purchased a netbook and i installed office 2007 on it. 3 days later the recently purchased netbook completly went crazy and  long story short i could not uninstall office 2007 from the netbook and i returned it to the provider. i exchanged it for another one and now i am goign to install office 2007 on the new netbook. however office 2007 is only licensed for up to 3 pcs...and  the 3rd pc was teh netbook that i returned...how can i deauthorize the license for that old netbook & put it on this new netbook?

  • Hello happyspecialk21,

There is no way to do what you ask.  But, while I am not a licensing expert, if the EULA says "on up to three computers" it would seem to mean the software is "being used" on up to three computers. The way I see it is that if you have returned the Laptop, the assumption is that the software is no longer "being used" (or even existing, since I would hope the company wipes it's returned computers) which would be the same thing as "deauthorizing it.

    I hope that helps,
