My Windows XP says " I am a victim of a counterfeit Software"! RRS feed

    hi... i really need your help, My name is john kevin, i am a sophomore student of the University of the Philippines in the Visayas here in iloilo City.


    I bought my computer last january 2006 at a local computer store in Gaisano City iloilo. At first i don't have any problems encountered with regards with my system. but just last night an error message appears while i am browsing the internet and it sa ys " Microsoft Windows XP sp1 operating system not genuine. I was wondering how it could happen.. since it just when on its usual windows update.


    I tried to reboot it but to no avail, it still messages me everytime i restart my pc. So what will i do inorder for me to correct this problem.


    When I purchase the PC, they only gave me 2 CD's the fax/modem driver, printer driver. not even a CD for the Windows XP.

    please do help me resolve the issues that i am tackling with , i am kind of distress right now on how to solve this.

  • Please follow this simple troubleshooting procedure:

    1. Download and install the MGA Diagnostic Tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=56062

    2. After running the MGA Diagnostic Tool, click on the "Windows" tab and then click on "Copy to Clipboard".

    3. Next, visit the following website and create a post in the "WGA Validation Problems" forum and paste the results of the WGA Diagnostic Data in a detailed post. http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/default.aspx?SiteID=25 

    4. A WGA troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution.
