DNS Zone Replication Scope Best Practice RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a single forest running Windows 2008 R2. Our forest has 4 child domains and each child has 2 DCs in it. DNS is configured Active Directory-Integrated.

On our primary DNS zones, for years we've had their replication settings set at "to all DNS servers running on domain controllers in this domain:" We haven't had problems with name resolution between parent and child domains.

My question is why wouldn't I have the scope settings at "to all DNS servers running in the forest"? Does being in AD-Integrated mode take care of intra-domain name replication?
