  • Question

  • I am receiving the following error when using SyncToy 2.0.100.0.

    "Exception during run: The FileSyncProvider received an unexpected error while applying a synchronized change."

    Here is the output from the "File->View Log":

    Here are the details of my computer and setup:

    • I am trying to sync from my local computer to a remote computer over a local network connection.
    • C:\...\My Documents <--> \\Jimbobmini\SharedDocs\SyncToy\
    • Both machines are using Windows XP with all the latest service packs and updates.
    • This error occured from the first attempt. SyncToy 2.0 has never worked. It occurs every time.
    • There are no unusual file names or long folder lengths.
    • I am *not* using Sharepoint.

    I've reviewed a few other similar posts, and so here is what I have done to assist with troubleshooting:

    • Manually copied the two folders that I set up in SyncToy. (No problem.)
    • Checked network connection for lost packets, etc.  (No problem.)
    • Tried with another sync tool. (No problem.)
    • The problem does not occur if I click the Preview button. It only occurs when I click the Run button.

    Please let me know what I can do to assist with the debug of this problem.  SyncToy would be perfect for what I need, if only it worked.  Smile
