  •   The only error code I see is 0xC004F00F which means "The activation server determined the specified product key is invalid"

I've looked up the key and it looks Valid and Genuine.

The resolution would be to Activate by Phone and talk to a Live Activation Rep.

If you don't know how to activate by Phone, just click the Start button, type: slui 4 and hit enter.  Once the Activate by Phone wizard opens, select your location and follow the directions. When the phone picks up, you will be talking with an Automatic Phone Prompt.  I recommend either selecting the option to talk to a live Activation Rep but if there is no such option, don't enter anything, this should force the Phone Prompt to transfer you to a Live Rep.

    Thank you,

  • they did no more for me than help me activate windows 7 over the phone.

Yes, that was my intent. To reactivate your Windows to resolve the Non-Genuine issue.

After Re-Activating, was the Non-Genuine issue resolved?

My Volume License account is being decremented a second time for each activation that I am having to redo (23 back in Summer of 2010 and another 23 now) It has cost me 46 licenses to license 23 desktops.

This is incorrect,  You have used 23 licenses to license 23 desktops.

Or in other words, you have done 23 Activations to license 23 desktops and 23 Re -Activations of the same 23 licenses.

The total number of Licenses used, has not changed .

    Thank you,

  • A follow up to your response. After a very painful phone call to India, they did no more for me than help me activate windows 7 over the phone. The did not have a clue as to what I was trying to get help with. We manually called out 48 numbers to each other over the phone to activate and then they said they cannot help with any other issues. He did offer to forward me to a manager, but then the called dropped while on hold. Do you have any other ideas on who I might contact (Dept and number)? My Volume License account is being decremented a second time for each activation that I am having to redo (23 back in Summer of 2010 and another 23 now) It has cost me 46 licenses to license 23 desktops.

VERY VERY FRUSTRATING AND TIME CONSUMING AND COSTLY.

Your machine is using an MAK License for Windows 7 Pro. You need to contact your System Administrator for assistance, as it may be a problem at their end, rather than at yours.

Having said that - check Validation manually,
If it fails, you should be offered the Diagnostics (direct link - http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/diag ) see what they have to say about your settings, once you have all green ticks, try validation again.

Post back with another MGADiag report, and your results.
