Forum not Wide enough

Question

More feedback...
Another very annoying part of the new layout is forum width.
I think using the standard 800px width is WAY too small. And very annoying for someone with a HD monitor.
Remember... the only reason many sites use 800px is because of history only.
Today's users have ALL have > 1200 px wide screen - -http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_resolution_higher.asp
* ALL developers have HD monitors.
* The forum that we are in has 1235px width ... Much better!!!The main problem is that as the thread continues (and some are very long) the replies get narrower and narrower.
I just posted a screen capture to help someone and only had around 300 px. Not helpful to anyone.Thanks

Only if you have "Threaded view" checked in your Settings.
Another opposing consideration for forum layout would be what mobile users see, e.g. Tablet users in Portrait orientation.
FWIW I have been noticing the opposite problem also with some MSDN pages. Too wide, not flowed, even when the navigation frame is minimized. My workaround to dealing with that is to set View, Style, No Style (Alt-V,y,N). Then the impulse is to use the Feedback frame at the bottom to notify the site about the problem but I'm not sure whether the Submit button works when CSS is disabled. (I haven't traced it.) There should be a button to toggle that No Style setting. ; }

Thanks Robert.
iPad and mobile devices should be detected and formatted automatically.
In this bureport section I have no problem with wider width since the boundaries of a post are nicely bordered.
Are Microsoft trying to reinvent them selves in the image of Metro? That may take a few iterations.
