Alerts are not working for me either RRS feed

    Today I made my first post in the 'new' forums.  Alerts were working in the old forums.
    My post was about Search losing restrictions failure in the bug reporting forum.  It received 2 replies, yet I did not receive an alert.
    My Alerts indicates that there is an alert attached to that message and the email address is correct and the same as it has been for the old forums.

    Another interesting observation (maybe a bug), is that when I created my new post, the Alert Me box was pre-checked.  I just looked at my profile/where ever it was and discovered that create an alert was not the default.  I just made it the default.

    Nope its working just fine. 

    Note you'll only get alert me emails only when other folks have replied to your thread (with alerts enabled).  

    You will not get alert me emails when you post a new thread or reply to a thread (since you you already know that you did this... ;-)

    Carl just said that because that's not the way it USED to work on these forums. It was a recent fix we made.

    Roy,
    Looks like there is a caching issue.  Make sure the "Alert Me' under the Actions menu is selected for the thread. 

    Also, you can also see which alerts you have by selecting "My Alerts" button.

    I got 3 alerts from your replies.  What do you mean it is a caching issue?

    I understand the way this works.  I have been at it a long time.  I suggest you investigate my note about the Alert Me setting being set even when the default was not to set it.  That message did not get alerts and this one did.
