Microsoft Product Key

Question

Please help me...
I just got this brand new computer (in the box, with the wrapping and took the tme to set it up and burn the recovery CD's). Its a Compaq Notebook PC (whch already had Windows Vista Home Installed on it). The problem I am having is the validation of the product key. When I try to open any Windows Office programme (such as Microsoft word or Excel), it requests that I enter a product key. When I do enter it (the 25 letters/numbers on the bottom of the laptop), it keeps telling me that it's incorrect ("The key is incorrect. Verify thatyou have the correct key, and then retype it."), but when I ran the MS Genuine Diagnostic Tool test to see if it's genuine, it comes back saying it is.
See the results of the MS Genuine Diagnostics Tool below:

Pia Baker,
You are trying activate your Trial installation of Office 2007 Home and Student using the Windows Vista Product Key.
As you have found out, this does not work! :-)
Please look in the materials that came with the new computer for a small card or info paper that has the Office 2007 Home and Student Trial activation product key. If you use this Product Key, you will be successful.
The Trial is good for 60 days from the date of activation. If you decide to purchase Office after the Trial, please see this article for more info: http://forums.community.microsoft.com/en-US/genuineoffice/thread/9157d80b-545c-4cee-9d8b-b0665287569a
Good Luck :-)

Pia Baker,
Our analysis of the diagnostic report indicate that the Windows Vista is genuine and so is a trial version of
Office Home and Student 2007.
As Dan pointed out, it may be the wrong product key that you are using to activate the trial version of Office Home and Student
2007 and you will need to find the product key for the office trial version.
If you have any questions about the trial version that came with your Compaq machine, please contact Compaq at
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/contact/phone_assist.html#section1 or 800-474-6836
Please look at the question, "Where can I locate the 25-character trial product key to activate my trial software?"
here at:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/pctrial/faq.mspx#E2G
I hope this helps,
Lori MS

Computer manufacturers often install a trial version of Microsoft Office. If you are getting a prompt to type in a Product Key when opening a Microsoft Office program, it is likely the trial period is over and you'll need to purchase a license (product key) for Microsoft Office.
The product key affixed to your computer is for Windows Vista (the operating system) and not for Microsoft Office. Please review the following:
