How do I remove the WHS from the list of computers to be backed up? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I plugged in an external drive and configured it as a backup drive to test that function of WHS.  I have since decided that I do not intend to do external backups of my WHS so I would like to "Remove Computer" from the list of computers to be backed up, but that choice is grayed out.  How can I remove the WHS from the list of computers that were backed up?

  • If you still have the disk you used for a server backup drive, reconnect it, remove it as a backup drive permanently , and see what happens. If you don't, or if you reformatted it or removed the contents of the disk some other way, then there's no supported way to remove your server as a backup candidate.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Thanks Ken.  I was able to hook up the backup drive and remove it, but still did not get the option to remove the WHS from the backup list.  Thanks for trying.
