General discussion
-
To all our valued Live Mesh for Mac customers:
Our recent Live Mesh for Mac update addressed a few issues that caused the Live Mesh for Mac software to shut down shortly after launching. If you have not encountered these problems, the new release will prevent it from occurring. If, however, you’ve experienced this problem, you will need to make sure you have the updated software installed (version number 0.9.3821.962 or later) and complete the steps below to fully resolve the issue:- Make sure that Live Mesh is not running on your Mac.
If you have any trouble with these steps, please post below for further assistance.
Thank you,
The Live Mesh Team

I tried all of the steps without success. I continue to get the same failure as soon as I define a shared folder.... So I can complete steps 1-5 without problem, but as soon as I define a sync to an existing Live Mesh folder the code crashes...Friday, March 13, 2009 5:10 PM

Did you also confirm that you have the latest version of Live Mesh installed? When you say "define a shared folder" and "existing Live Mesh folder" do you mean that you are offered a folder from the Live Mesh once you've connected and the failure happens as soon as you click on the folder to set the sync details for that offered folder?

Geez sorry I didn't see this earlier... Work has been crazy. The Live Mesh version I have installed is Version 0.9 (0.9.3821.962) I think that is the most recent. The failure happens always when I try to define any Live Mesh folder. It was failing when I connected and was offered a folder by Live Mesh and I selected it. Right now it also happened before I logged in... Any ideas?Thursday, March 19, 2009 9:35 PM

The best that I can offer is that you may want to revisit the information above and follow all steps to remove Live Mesh from your Mac and then install it again as a new machine.
if that doesn't resolve the issue, file a bug - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/LiveMesh/thread/d52b350a-f3e0-41c6-8e78-d6378e566b9e - instructions are for a Windows PC as far as log collection and, not having a Mac myself, I can't tell you if the steps differ greatly for Mac.

Small correction: The instructions Steve links to include steps to collect Mac logs (and Mobile) as well. :)

Ben.
well, would you look at that! It does. :-) You'd think that I would have remembered that. I've been linking to the post, but haven't read it in ages. My brain remembered the older announcement post that only had the PC log procedure! (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it, Ben!)
