Licence type to use for non-interactive CRM 2013 users RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I have an enterprise installation of Dynamics CRM 2013 which has many normal users of various licence types. We also support members of the public through a custom web front-end for which we create a limited user with access to a few essential entities but no ability to log into the CRM web UI.

    What licence type should I be using for these users? We have been told in the past by MS account execs that these web API limited users will not be counted as individual CALs, instead falling under some sort of Web API licencing. The thing is that I do not see any obvious licence type in the User admin screen. Administrative, Professional, Essential, Basic, Device Essential and Device Basic are the only options.
