Admin Passwords

Hi,
New to this but would like to find out some info on Admin Passwords. Problem I have is that I have my system run a backup every day and it was doing it fine. But I decided to change the password and now it does accept it and so the backup does not run. Have tried using the previuos passwords but that does not work either. Does anyone know of how to check that it changed the password and to what it thinks it is. Not sure if this is the right forums to put this question in.

The problem couldave bin that,when u changed the password from your original password the system did not track it,and could have a mix up with other system command passwords,its happened to be before,ya it sounds a bit stupid,but i know what im doing.
