One-care expired causes services to stop responding RRS feed

  • Question

  • Many services have been stopped on my computer.  I think this was caused by 'Microsoft Onecare' expiring.  What a hassle - I could run onecarecleanup.exe in safe mode and then I thought that maybe I could install micorosoft essentials and that this would fix it.  But mssefullinstall-x86fre-en-us-vista-win7.exe will not install in safe mode, and in normal mode Windows explorer - just hangs after I double click on the file, I have also tried - run as administrator - but this also fails.

Google chrome still can access the internet on the computer - even though the network connection shows no connection (this is while I am logged in normally) - the network and sharing center will not fire up in normal mode.  In normal mode - internet explorer only shows a blank screen.  Google chrome cannot download anything in normal mode.  In safe-mode it shows that I am connected to my wireless.
