VS 2015 : Start debugging is very slow!!

    Question

  • Hi

i'm working with vs 2015 without any problem. today when i open my project and made some changes on it, then start debugging, i saw it's very slow and take some while (more than 15-20 seconds) to run my simple app!

what's happened and how to solve it ?

Note : i found some solutions like this, but not works for me!

    Thanks in advance

    reboot.....

I do, but my problem was not solved.

Note 1 : last night i've installed new version of devExpress componet (17.2.3) and i think after that i'm facing this problem.

Note 2 : someTimes when i open vs and click on one of my recently project(s) i'm facing this package loading error :

    Microsoft Visual Studio
    ---------------------------
The 'NuGetPackage' package did not load correctly.
The problem may have been caused by a configuration change or by the installation of another extension. You can get more information by examining the file 'C:\Users\110\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\ActivityLog.xml'.
Restarting Visual Studio could help resolve this issue.
Continue to show this error message?

  • Well, go look at the log and see what it is talking about with the error, which is just a text file you can open with an editor like notepad.

  • I'm sorry!

after i review activitylog.xml, i found some entry like this :

    <entry>
        <record>246</record>
        <time>2018/06/05 10:31:18.478</time>
        <type>Error</type>

<errorinfo>The Visual Studio component cache is out of date. Please restart Visual Studio. The Visual Studio component cache is out of date. Please restart Visual Studio.</errorinfo>
      </entry>

which related to my warning message when i load my project, but after a lot of search on the net for this message, i didn't found helpful result, just i found deleting temp folder which did not solve my problem.

Note : My main problem is debugging is very slowly!!

  • Have you tried a Clean and Rebuild the solution?

Secondly, you can also post to the Visual Stuido forum for help, since you do not have a C# related issue.

  • Hi Hamed_1983,

From your description, your question is more related to Visual Studio. You should post your question in Visual Studio Forum  . The Visual C# forum discuss and ask questions about the C# programming language, IDE, libraries, samples, and tools.

    Best Regards,

    Dolen

  • Hi Hamed_1983,

    (1) It seems that you installed certain add-ins or extension tools in your default VS, before you debug your app, if you remove/disable the VS add-ins or extensions, how about the result?

    (2) Disable the symbols loaded under TOOLS->Options->Debugging->Symbol.

    (3) Disable the Visual studio hosting process in your project properties window.

    (4) Delete .suo file, and then re-open your project files, clean and build your project, debug it again.

    Best Regards,

    Jack
