Embedded Media Player Issue since last windows update. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Since the Windows update released on Oct 8 4462923 the media player seek bar has become unusable. If you click it after the audio starts playing it jumps back to the beginning and start the audio over. You can no longer scrub the audio.

This was working fine prior to that update and I can uninstall that update (4462923) from my system and the embedded media player works fine and as expected.

I have researched on the internet for several days looking for any information and havent found anything yet.

The media player is embedded in a web page and also have two windows forms applications that also use the embedded mediaplayer and all three have the same issue so its not a browser issue.

The embedded media player is dynamically assigned a URL based on other data and the audio is playable, just cant move the seek bar anymore.

Anyone have similar issues or know what i could look at? Our clients refuse to remove this update even as a temporary work around.

This has always worked without issue till now.
