Windows asking for validation for the second time this month RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I bought windows 7 around 4 months a go and I didnt have any issue till now; I bought a new graphics card and installed it, a few days later, I got a message in the task bar about hardware changes and that it was necessary to validate my product; I did it by phone, there was no problem at all, but now like 5 days later, I got the same message:  I need to validate again; I havent changed any hardware, neither configured anything, so I dont know whats going on. Is there any way to solve this?

    Thanks in advance.

This can sometimes happen because of driver updates for the motherboard - but there may be other reasons

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

  • In that link I get, after some validation process, a welcome banner, a link to download Security Essentials, IE9 and a link for windows live. I already have IE9 tho.

For retail you mean a brand computer? because I assembled this machine. the only modification after I installed windows 7 was the video card upgrade.

MS Validation obviously thinks your key is genuine :)
Please post another MGADiag report - with any luck this will have solved the problem, unless you are still seeing the non-genuine notifiaction.
