SyncToy "the specified network name is no longer available" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Win XP Pro desktop and a Win7 laptop. I have used SyncToy for years with relatively minor issues (I used to have an XP laptop). I have several folders that I synchronize on a regular basis. Just yesterday, it stopped working and I'm getting a "the specified network name is no longer available" error. For the two folder pairs where I get this error, the files that need to be copied are 40MB Access .mdb files. I have other folder pairs that work just fine. Other files in these two folder pairs also Sync with no problem ... it's these two specific files!

    I have this build:

version; Built 10/19/19   I have used it for months and months with NO issues!

    Why now?

I think it's not SyncToy as much as it's the file because I can't copy the file from the win 7 laptop to the Win XP pro Shared Folder. (again, used to be able to!)

I did modify these files on my laptop (Win7) as I have many times (daily!) in the past.
