Sql 2008 Change Tracking or Sync Services or Merge Replication? RRS feed

  • Hi All

I am doing some research on a application that needs Point of Sale data to be replicated/synced from stores to a central Head Office.

I have the choice to use Sql 2008 Std or Express at Head Office and Sql 2008 Express at stores. I am trying to way up the best model to use. Data needs to be synced both ways between Head Office and Store. A C# application will be able to manage the replication process.

Change tracking in Sql 2008 seems to able to handle most scenarios. How does change tracking fit in with Sync Services? Do I even need sync services as I see their is currently no SQLExpress provider?

It seems sql merge replication may be the best solution, but I would like to get some opinions.
