[UWP][C#] Microsoft Passport in apps for Mixed Reality RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all,

I have recently seen the presentation of Alex announcing the new Samsung headset for Mixed reality. As I was learning a lot about Microsoft Passport and Hello in the past weeks, I have now a question:
How will Microsoft Passport authentication in apps work when using the newly announced headsets for Mixed reality? Do these headsets have iris scanners for recognizing the person wearing the headset?

    Thanks and kind regards,

  • For help with Mixed Reality app development please post in the Mixed Reality forums at http://forums.hololens.com For questions about the specific hardware capabilities you'll need to check with the hardware vendor. I haven't used the Samsung device so I can't speak to it, but I'm not aware of any headsets with iris scanners.

  • Windows 10 will officially add support for Mixed Reality headsets in Fall Creators Update (to be released on 17th October,2017). However, you could have already been testing this with Insider builds of Windows 10 through the Windows Insider program.
