Hi Rodsmith,
Would you reboot 2 times and the Non-genuine message should disappear. Your diagnostic shows Genuine and I don't see any other licensing error codes, so I believe there was a momentary error (usually caused by some program mistakenly attempting to access a specific block of protected system memory, being used by the Licensing sub-system).
Unfortunatly, even after a momentary flip to non-genuine and back, Vista needs to fully sync back to the Genuine state. So even though you are currently Genuine, Vista will still display the non-genuine text untill rebooted (usually 2 times).
Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you,

well used it for a week of hardware conflicts. the ever popular blue screen of death and just plain out of the blue reboots. stupid system decided my soundcard wasn't vista compliant so went and got a new soundblaster aud and installed it using the newest windows vista drivers. no chance system still kept crashing. no way too use it. after a week of that i did the same thing i did when you came out with windows 98....i went back to the old os. Vista gets my vote as the most messed up os you have released since windows 98. my sytem meets and exteeds EVERY requirement you show as what vista needs to run...but it won't and since it forced me to do a clean install....even though it was sold as an "upgrade" disk there is not even the excuse that the old holdover software was causing it.
of couse what's real funny is after i went back to XP whole system worked fine. EXCEPT for the new soundblaster soundcard. SEEMS it doesn't like XP!

that's got it so far thanks! figured something got hung up somewhere. since the windows update site said it was genuine and i saw that the diagnostic program also said it. just couldn't figure out why the desktop disagreed. LOL thanks again
