how do I get a secure website to let me view it? I keep getting kicked out. (i.e. htpps://)

  I deleted java application, that was http://(address), now I want it/set up a https://(address) to be supported/viewed. I have IE8, XP Professional...the difference between s and no s is that I'm not able to see tabs on my home page, that I need to see to navigate my business.
