  • Question

  • I was trying to run Microsoft Word 2007 on my new laptop. It prompted me for my Product Key, so I put in the number beside "Product Key:" on the back of my laptop off the sticker that says "Windows Home Vista Premium OEMAct" only to get a message saying "The key is incorrect. Verify that you have the correct key and retype it." I've tried this a million times and it keeps giving me the same message. Unless I'm blind or stupid, my Product Key is correct as I've been typing it. I could use a little help...

Here are the results from my scan.

  • Hi Jordan,

The product key that is affixed to the laptop is for Windows Vista only and will not work with Microsoft Word 2007.  Where did you obtain your copy of Word 2007?  The diagnostic report you attached does not show Word 2007 as being installed.

    Thanks,

    Michelle

  • Since this is a Office (Word) activation issue, I'm going to move this thread to the Office validation forum where they'll be able to help you.  Thanks!
