Compute Cluster Administrator: cannot connect to head node RRS feed

  • when i open Compute Cluster Administrator

    it says: cannot connect to head node

    what's the problem?

  • That error indicates that the Compute Cluster Administrator can't contact the services running on the HN of the cluster.  There are a few things to check:

    • Are all of the various HPC services running?
    • If you're on a remote client, have you correctly entered the HN's name or IP address?
    • If you're on a remote client, are you sure you have network connectivity to the HN?

  • all services are running, I'm local client, administrator with all rights, but error

    occur,
    furthermore nodes sometimes switch off
    whereas ping from node to head works, but from head to node sometimes packets losts

  • Try running (run as) the control application with differrent credentials (like a user of the domain).

    Sometime, you just have to wait a minute or two...
