Win 7 Does Not Start After Restore RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I had a 60GB SSD hard drive running Win7 Pro fail. I replaced it with a 256GB SSD and restored the system from the WHS2011 backup. The restore completed successfully, but when I rebooted the system failed to start. Error received was Status 0xc000000e - The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. Please explain the problem to me. All hardware is the same except for the hard drive. Both drives were SATA drives. I tried repairs with the Win7 installation disk, but it was unable to repair the problem. I have tried repairing the BCD, ran Chkdsk /F, etc. but nothing works. Why am I backing up if when I need the backup, it does not work?

    Thanks for any help/insight.
