WLW and the Cloud RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I would propose that WLW also be one of the app's accessible in the Cloud (along with Word/Excel/PowerPoint/OneNote). This is one thing that Google does not make easy to post to a number of blogs. I publish to blogs at Typepad, Blogger and Spaces and this is one GREAT tool. I would like to be able to use it from anywhere on other computers. The Word capability of publishing is not as intuitive, inclusive or easy as WLW. It would be good if it were connected to Mesh or Office LIVE.

  • Thank you for the feedback.

Just a couple questions to see where you are coming from.  Do you just want a web based version of Windows Live Writer so you don't have to install it when you are on a computer that doesn't have WLW already installed?  Would you expect that you have all your drafts, plugins, settings, etc... to be synced with your local version when using a web based version?  If you didn't have them sync'ed with your local version, would the web version be useless to you?

  • Would I like to have my dictionary follow me? Umm.. HELL YEAH! And all of my other settings too...

Would it be worthless or pointless not to have them? Well, my grandaddy always told me that something is better than nothing. If I am on a locked down terminal and I cannot install WLW it would be helpful to me to be able to load it in a browser and publish without my settings. How often would this happen to me? I can forsee it happening perhaps 1 to 10 times in a year. And when it does happen not having my settings on a public computer would actually seem better security wise.
