If you cannot successfuly use the Product Key Updater Utility, then your best option is to backup and offload your data, then do a clean installation of XP using the CD that came with the WGA Kit. The CD takes about 1-2 weeks to arrive by Mail after you place your order.

Try updating your PK using this method:
First, hit Start, hit run.
type regedit, hit enter.
navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents
In the right pane, right-click OOBETimer, and then click Modify.
Change at least one digit of this value
Hit Start, hit run and
type this:%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a
Hit activate by telphone, and then hit change product key.
