MS CRM bulk edit RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does the bulk edit creates a system job or something, i basically want to send email about the status if there are any failed records on completion of bulk edit?

PS I am using MS CRM 2013 on premise.

  • If you are bulk editing from the views then you cannot get any alert. If some code is bulk editing records than you can add this alert in the code.

  • Bulk edit is client-side functionality. The Bulk Edit form sends separate Update requests for each record that is to be updated. I don't think there is a definitive, supported way to determine if a record is updated via bulk edit, or a single update.

However, why do you think a bulk edit might fail on some records ?

  • I have logic to let the record updated only if it fulfils some criteria, so bulk might fail for some record.Once it is finished I want to send email. Even if I create a new entity to store some information about what failed then also I cannot group the records on the bulk edit instance to send an status report to user.

Seems like there is no good way to do it.
