Error 0x80070426 when trying to validate Vista Ultimate

Question

Hi all !
I got problems with my Vista Ultimate yesterday. I got messages that my liscence was not valid, followed with a lot of different messages as I tried different things. I got Vista through MSDN and if it's not valid, then it's not my fault.
Anyway, now the problem seems to be that it can't use the validation service. I've tried to start both manually, to no avail.
So instead of using yesterday evening and night to finish some coding, I had to spend all yesterday fighting this. I've run the Diagnostic tool several times and sometimes it says the valid liscense and sometimes it's invalid liscense. If I can't get this fixed soon, I probably have to ditch Vista and revert to XP. That combined with reinstall of Visual Studio and all other coding tools means that I'll spend the rest of this weekend on this. While I understand that Microsoft want to protect their products - it goes to far when people with proper licences can't use the product. I don't have time for this kind of ***.
TIA
Kai

Hi !
Everything got slower and slower and in the end I got a physical disk error on my C:\ drive. It was so damaged that I could not even format it again. Anyway, I got a replacement today. I'll run XP until I'm certain that people don't experience this anymore.
Thanks for your follow-up though.
