Multiple user accounts on the same PC with WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • How does WHS work with multiple user accounts on the same PC ?  Does WHS backup all user data or just the logged on user ?

Do I have to install the connector software just once on the main account or should it be installed for each user (with each user having their own account in the WHS control panel) ??

Can someone clarify this for me please.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Windows Home Server backs up everything on the PC (unless you exclude one or more folders or drives from backups), and the connector only needs to be installed once.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • As Ken mentioned, backup is system wide (this is why you need the Console password to access backups with administrator permissions).

The user accounts only determine, which permissions are set for shared folder access and for Remote access.
