No Audio Device RRS feed

  • Question

I had to start a new thread, because my problem varies a bit from the other posts I read.  I had complete system failure and no windows disks to fix it (previous recovery disks were damaged).  I recently purchased xp home (same as before) reformatted C:, and XP is up and running again....however, no sound.  I have tried dl'ing the exact model sound driver from emachines site and no luck.  I have also tried many of the suggestions listed and still no luck.  I dont even have a device listed in the device manager aside from audio codecs, legacy audio drivers, and a few other video related items listed.  I'm at a complete loss in how to fix this problem.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Happy Holidays!!
