How to add a shared directory to a Windows 7 library? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to add \\server\users\be789\documents to the Windows 7 Documents library.  It won't let me because it thinks there is no index on the server for that directory.  It will, however, let me add \\server\users to the Documents library.  I verified via Remote Desktop that there is indeed an index for all shares.

Is it possible to only add a subdirectory of \\server\users to a Windows 7 library?  Otherwise, I see all users and not just me in the library.

This is on a WHS system running HP's software version 3.3.1.

  • You can add an entire share, but not an individual folder within a share.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
