Firewall Communication when going Offline in CRM 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to set up CRM on a managed laptop for one of my clients. Installation works fine, but when I try to go offline I get the following warning:

Sync against the server works fine:

But after the sync. This process tries to communicate:

Our customer’s security advisores needs to know exactly what this process requests and why.

All internal communication is open in the firewall.

I can’t find anything in the Implementation Guide or any other MS documentation. Does anyone of you know what this process trying to access outside of the box?

  • Hi Casper,

The Hoster service is not trying to go externally, is only connecting to the local webserver that CRM installs.

to provide offline access CRM installs two things:

    • SQL express
    • local web server (cassini)

The firewall is blocking this on the inbound rule, you may want to add first localhost to your trusted sites and allow this service on the PC firewall.
