Two plugins or one plugin for one entity RRS feed

  • Question

  • At the moment we have two plugins triggering on the same entity.

The question I have now, is it better to have one plugin with the code or to have one plugin with both code?

Also is there a way I can see if a plugin has been used?  There is a lot of old code from others left and I want to clean up.

  • Hi Majieke,

There is no easy and "correct" answer to this imho. I would probably for the most cases try to keep the code in one plugin, but if you have some special code that will only be triggered by some field, it might be a good thing to isolate it. One advantage could be to split things into several assemblies which will give you the ability to put stuff in production separately because when you have all code in one assembly it's a one-shot-production-happening for all code.

There's no way to tell if a "plugin has been used" other than make it log it somehow.

    Hope it helps.
