Owner Lookup to Specific Team Members

Question
-
hi,
The question is, how would i be able to set the owner id programmatically to lookup to a team... at the moment by default when you select the owner of a case for example, you have an option of selecting a user or queue... now how then can i add a team to this drop down... and default it to a team... is this posible?
Your help will be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance :-)

I'm afraid that this is impossible.

Hello, unfortunately records cannot be owned by teams. Even when you 'assign' a case to a queue it remains owned by the original owner until it is accepted from the queue by a new owner. Teams are used just to make it easier to share records.
In CRM5, I'm expecting that it will be possible for records to be owned by teams. Until then it will require a lot of custom development for you to make it appear as though records are owned by a team.
