Question
-
Hi, I buyed a Toshiba e205 last friday (with windows 7 home premium). On saturday I downloaded windows security essentials (windows said my copy was genuine back then) but today when I try to validate my windows again (beacause the system told me to do so) it says it is not genuine anymore. What's the problem??? Here is my diagnostic:

Your "software protection" files (needed for validation) were changed in some way. As all errors listed are connected to Windows Update, you could try using the "System Update Readiness Tool" from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/en-us (scroll down for a manual download). I don't know if you did install Microsoft Security Essentials yet, but if you do, make sure there is no other AV software running at the same time, or those inconsistencies will occur again. Typing "cmd" at the start button, right-clicking "run as administrator" and then "sfc /scannow" might also help.
