Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit to 32 bit with same license RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Microsoft,

firstly, sorry if this question had been uttered by others previously. I want to ensure I got correct remedy for my problem.

OK. I bought some laptops and they were non-OS ones. So I requested the seller to install Genuine Win 7 Home Premium. I thought if I hadnot mentioned 64bit, they would automatically install the 32bit. However they delivered the laptops I found out the Win 7 HomPre was 64bit . I got some programs and hardware those do not support 64bit. So I am considering to install the 32bit instead of 64bit.

If I have 32bit installation CD, can I use same Product Key to activate it? Is the license type OEM or something else?

    Thanks is advance.

  • A genuine Windows 7 product key can be used with either 32-bit or 64-bit installation DVDs.
