Setting Security for Case Data under specific accounts RRS feed

  • I am using CRM 2013 Online and have over 2,000 accounts and over 14,000 contact and pretty much have access to all account and contact information.    A few hundred of the contacts have Case Data that I need to limit access to a few users.  All users in the office are assigned the same security role.  Any thought on how I can accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.  I am on the latest CRM update.

  • You need to move the restricted Account to their own Business Unit, and then also the users that support them to their own business unit, and then change security for Read permissions from "global" to "Business Unit" for all records that need those restrictions.

    You might also want to look at what CRM 2015 is bringing to security hierarchy. That might be useful for you as well, and comes out in a month or two.
