activation from university upgrade downloaded copy of windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • 1. if you answered my question, it is not in a form that can be used by me.

    2. i purchased a copy from the university- it took a while to figure out how to load it onta a DVD only to have the copy fal to activate.  I went back an reread the instructions, re-installed windows 7, only to be told again that the university purchased copy was pirated.

    3. I don't know about how you guys like to spend your days, but my apple computers do not do this to me.  I get an operating system, and it loads, and I use it.  I am not made to feel as if I am a criminal for purchasing a legitmate product.

I think microsoft still has some problems with presenting a product that works. out of the box, works.  I want an actiation code that works.  It really is not too much to ask.

You waited a full 4 minutes between your original post and your next. A forum is not like instant messanger. It can take some time to receive a response.

Take the software back for a full refund. It is not a Valid Windows 7 release. see my response to #3 (below) for aditional detail

Yes, your apple software would do this exact same thing if it was also an expired Beta version of the Software.

From your Diagnostic Report: "Build lab: 7000.winmain_win7beta.081212-1400"

I think microsoft still has some problems with presenting a product that works. out of the box, works.  I want an actiation code that works.  It really is not too much to ask.

No, in fact, Windows 7 works very well.   The Windows 7 Beta software expired some months back. So the fact that you are unable to Activate means it's working as designed.

To get an Activation Code that works, you need to purchase a full release version of the software.

    Thank you,

  • Windows Product Key: *****-*****-G37RP-W2J2R-V3B49  <--This key is all over the internet, but from all the results I can't tell if it is a default key, or a leaked key.Remaining Windows rearm count: 5  <-- this entry is irregular.

If the key being used is the one that you received when you purchased it then you need to take all of your documentation to the appropriate office or person and ask them where your legitimate key is. The key listed will never activate. If you purchased it electronically then check your confirmation emails, if you received a COA verify the key on it.

You wrote " I don't know about how you guys like to spend your days..............."

BTW. There is only ONE person who posts on this board that works for MS, everyone else responds to questions during their spare time. Be nice to us if you want our help, we deserve it. And giving Darin a hard time wouldn't be useful, besides, he always goes out of his way to help when the problem has been effectively communicated.
