Content language is wrong RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello!

    My page has been indexed quite well by the MSN Bot (though mostly through me manually adding the pages). But, in the webmaster tool it tells me that the language of my page is Hungarian and that the country is Denmark (that is correct, as the server can be found there). But how come that it tells me that the content is Hungarian? In the HTML content the content is set to "en" and all language used is in English. How come?

    This are the htmls code of the header section::
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
    <body bgcolor="#000000" font="arial" text="#000000" leftmargin="5" topmargin="5" rightmargin="5" bottommargin="5">
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styles.css">
    <title>Tourist Guide to Hungary and Budapest - Attractions - Hotels - Sightseeing - Programs</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" >
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en">

  • We use a lot of tests to determine Locale.   My best guess is that we are getting bad data from the Reverse IP lookup.  We are improving this and the future we are looking at how to let you inform us through the tools if this is not correct.

    The good news is that this is not effecting your rank.
