    I also received a mail giving me username and URL.. I also designed my website.. But where to upload my webpage(index.html) now?

    almost all have got the username and the pass...if u have registered in the first month u would have got the username and pass by now...

    Use an ftp software to upload ur files to the web. The server address is given in your e-mail along with uid and passwd.

    i have registered at the end of octomber month for student rockstar as well as for light up ur college..........

    thts y i thnk i have not been given the username n password yet............

    some friends not received the username n password bcoz the date for the registration is also going lait for our other friends. so u can get the username n password in just one month.

     

    n for to uploading the site u have to use ftp softwares:

     

    one of the software name is FILEZILLA

    Steps for making your webpage work:-

    1. Download a FTP client ( here is a link of one http://www.smartftp.com )
    2. In the FTP client enter 203.199.114.131/myaccount in the host part
    3. Enter your uid and passwd.
    4. Connect.
    5. In your folder upload a html file named "index.htm". This will become your homepage.

    Now from your browser try to view     http://203.199.114.131/myaccount, you will see your index.htm file contents.

    Note: 'myaccount' signifies your login id given by the admins.

    Though i have an index page i can't view it when i simply goto http://203.199.114.131/12345770

    to see my index page, i had to type

    http://203.199.114.131/12345770/index.html

    How to solve this problem?

    Replace the text myaccount with your username you got in your email sent by student rockstar admin.. u will receive this email in approximately 20 days after ur registration.. if ur username is 12345666 then goto http://203.199.114.131/12345666 using filezilla using the given password sent along with the username.. hope this is clear..

    hello lenin i know that we have to menstion id like 12345_ _ _. In my post i describe as myaccount just we have to replace it. that thing i know very well n thanks for filezilla.
