Live Mesh Remote Desktop Not Available on Windows 7 64-bit RRS feed

  • Hi, I installed Live Mesh 0.9.4014.7 on a Windows 7 64bit Ultimate PC with admin account and UAC off. The "Enable Remote Desktop enhancement" checkbox did not appear on the second screen after the first sign in. Sync function is ok but remote desktop is not available. I uninstalled/reinstalled several times but could not get RD work. The Live Mesh Remote Desktop service is installed and started. What's going on?

  • I followed your suggestion and found that the "Enable Remote Destop enhancement" checkbox appeared with UAC on. But RD is still not available after reboot. I've submit a bug report, https://connect.microsoft.com/LiveMesh/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=491872.

  • I don't know the answer for you, but I suggest trying to reinstall Live Mesh on that machine again with UAC enabled, though that shouldn't make a difference. I've installed on a few 64 bit Windows 7 machines, but always with UAC enabled. (I see no good reason to turn off UAC these days, especially in Windows 7...)
    Another thing to try is to go to the System properties dialog via Control Panel and check if "allow remote connection" is enabled or not and enable it if it isn't and see if that makes a difference.
    If none of that works, then I suggest submitting a bug report:

    Note that you probably won't get a response to the bug report, though. It will be transferred to the internal system to be assigned to the appropriate development group.

  • Sorry that it still didn't work, but thanks for submitting the bug report. Some people have reported that RD became available mysteriously at a later point, so do let us know if that happens in your case.
