Console is not updated! RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've installed all updates from Windows Update.

But I notice nothing new in the console.
For example I don't see the "Delete All" button in the "Computers & Backups" tab.

It seems it isn't updated at all.

And how does the client get updated when all the updating is done on the server?

    What went wrong?

Answers

  • Look closer, it's not in the Computers and Backup tab but under settings (top right hand side of the console) then backup.

Acctually they didnt - if you read the entire sentance :

"A Delete All command button has been added to the Backup tab on the Windows Home Server Console Settings page.

You will see it says the Backup tab on the SETTINGS page, not the main Console tab.

I think you might be confused about what the updates are providing you.

If you go to Settings and Resources, what are the version numbers shown there?

Also, what version of WHS are you running?

As for the client updates, if there are client updates you will receive a message saying there is an updated version and then you could just go to the shared folder on your WHS and run the setup program to perform the update.

What exactly do you think you were supposed to get?

  • The informatiaon about the KB941914 says this:

"A Delete All command button has been added to the Backup tab on the Windows Home Server Console Settings page. You can use this command to permanently delete all home computer backups that are stored on the home server..."

    I don't have this button.

  • Thank you. It's where you said.

Strange that Microsoft says it would be under the Backups tab.
