CRM 3.0 Workflow Callouts RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anyone worked on or implemented a workflow to deactivate records when the parent entity has been deactivated.  For example, as designed, CRM 3.0 will not deactivate the Contact records of an Account when the Account id deactivated.  The Contact records just stay out in a sort of "no mans land".

I'm trying to find a way via workflow, and possibly executing a callout that when the status of an Account changes to inactive, that the Contact records associated with the Account also get deactivated.

Any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated.

  • I would have thought you can configure this via the cascading rules for the relationship between the account and contact entity (look carefully, as there are several relationships between these 2 entities)

If this doesn't work, then you'd need a callout or custom workflow activity to do this - I'd probably make it a custom workflow activity as that is easier to disable
