Suggestion: Add Topic Voting Option RRS feed

    If a topic is of discussion type it should be possible to vote on the topic.

    Particularly if opinions or improvement suggestions are given with that topic, it should be possible to agree (or even disagree) with that topic.

    Like with issues at the MS Connect website this could give Microsoft an option to recognize important and much requested opinions and improvement suggestions.

    Well, despite your missing cynical reply you must have ignored the fact that you've just given my posting within my topic a vote as helpful. As you've surely noticed right after your vote, this doesn't mean anything in regard to a topic.

    Voting a posting as being helpful doesn't mean the topic is helpful as well. Postings might be helpful answers to questions arising within a discussion topic but still they may be out of topic themselves.

    So I still suggest to allow for topic votes for Microsoft to select most valued topics.


    Of course, I agree with you that in fact the first posting within a topic might be used for this purpose as well. But I personally don't believe this is perceived by many users as having this functionality. There should be a dedicated voting option available. (Internally the first postings voting might be used for this, but it should be displayed differently.)

    Also I would (kinda) like to see a button where you can give a NO vote, where the post was NOT helpful, then maybe people would give better answers eh?
