CRM Organization Import - Map Users issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are trying to import the Org from the Production environment to the Dev environment. These two are in a different domain. Not all the users in Prod are in the Dev. So, when we import the Org DB to Dev and try to map the users in PROD DB to an ADMIN account in DEV, we get an error.

"you cannot map more than one microsoft dynamics crm user to the same account"

We need to map all the users in PROD to a single account in DEV. Is there any better approach to do that?

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

  • Hi Dhivya,

It's not possible to map more than one user to a single account. I would suggest either creating the PROD users in DEV or changing the ownership of the records to the existing DEV users so you don't lose them.

  • Thanks for the quick response! We took a backup of the PROD CRM DB and restored it to a new DB in DEV and trying to import the DB through the Deployment Manager (Import Org). Is there any way that we can modify the ownership of the records in the PROD DB by a SQL script or Scribe?

Also, is it mandatory that SSRS report server should be configured in DEV before importing the organization?

    Any suggestion is appreciated.
