  • Hello, Tobias. That error typically means that you are attempting to install OneCare on an unsupported operating system. OneCare can only be installed on Windows XP 32 bit with SP2 installed or Windows Vista 32 bit or 64 bit. It will not install to XP 64 bit edition, Windows 2000, Windows Server (any version), or Windows ME or older.

What is your operating system version?

  • What error is presented when it fails?

See this post for the KB article to troubleshoot install problems - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1588602&SiteID=2

    hi,

thanks for the quick response. I tried to solve it with ur advise but it didn`t work.

The problem is that i`m german and its hard to translate but i tried:

ocsetup.exe - beginning point not found

The beginning point of the procedure "GetProcessld" was not found in DLL "KERNEL32.dll"

Hope u can word with that translation.

For all other german speaking users here is the german failure:

    ocsetup.exe - Einsprungspunkt nicht gefunden

Der Prozedureinsprungspunkt "GetProcessdl" wurde in der DLL "KERNEL32.dll" nicht gefunden

  • Yes, visit Windows Update and download all available updates for your fresh XP installation. Once that is complete (after many, many reboots, I'm afraid!) you will have XPSP2 and will be able to install OneCare. Good luck, Tobias.
