  • Question

  • What are Microsofts plans to Update WHS 2011 to Support Drive Extender?

I have read several reports that WHS 2011 users should use RAID.

While this is possible, it is not part of WHS 2011 whereas Drive Extender was part of WHS 1 and therefore easier to manage and understand.

  • Drive Extender is gone, and will not be coming back. If a future version of Windows includes similar technology, it may appear in a future version of Windows Home Server, but there's no guarantee any of that will come to pass.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • I doubt Microsoft will offer a recommendation but I have beem using stablebit drive pool and it is working extremely well.

Has recently been released as a full product.
